12 Million iPad Mini Units Sold in Q1 2013

Only days since Apple was openly asked to hurry the release for Apple’s iPad mini the answer quickly came. It is not yet been confirmed by Apple but it was speculated in the press that it’s very possible that no later than the first quarter of the year 2013 the company to ship around 11 million of the 7.9-inch tablets. The reason for this seems to be the fact that in China, the factories that are ?manufacturing the device?are going to be equipped with more improvements in the supply string.
Apple CEO Tim Cook declared, during the last week of the earnings review, that the highest degree of constrain for shipping ?iPad mini was mostly felt during all-important holiday time of the year. In the month of December the shipping of tablets had to be postponed a week after, while in the month of January, the shipping had to be effectuated after?approximately from? 3 to 5 days of delay. The fact that now Apple is?hurrying?the process for shipping the new iPad mini was most probably the consequence of the rumors speculating in regard with the beginning of the year.
A today’s news taken from the Chinese-language CCIDNet (via AppleInsiders) it’s in good resemblance with a report from Tuesday by DigiTimes, supply-chain news site.
DigiTimes says that sources from the industry sustained that in the first quarter Apple was drastically reducing for its 9.7-inch iPad products of six million units, down from Apple’s initially estimation of 12-15 million units.
The perceived argument seems to be the fact that the popularity for the iPad mini towards consumers is increasing over and over again
The previous report seems to sustain the rumor in which it was claimed that it wasn’t such a bad idea the fact that the supply issues were slowing iPad minis to get to the customers. However there is a risk that some?of the readers will be tented to misunderstand and reduce the demand of ordering mini iPads thinking that there has been taking place a lower shipments process.
Actually, it is a high probability that being reduced the demands for the LG’s displays it will lead to a closer and more qualitative delivery chain of iPad mini. Besides this, LG is one of the suppliers that provides displays for the iPad mini, therefore not the only one.
The news reported unsourced are facing the same problem over and over again: the readers are not able to establish the cause regarding the leaks in the news. We are wondering if LG is a DigiTimes consumer to let Apple know that mini is so popular because and actually all that they need is their contract….
Is there any other display supplier that could bring interest for the LG?enterprise, mainly?referring at the fact that Apple is no longer in need of its services?
We do not really think we will get a reply, especially with NDA’s being so important! Therefore, we recommend to take these reports as they are, not to mention they are little bit salty.
