5.5-inch iPhone 6 Pro will be $100 More Expensive than the 4.7-inch iPhone 6 Air

According to the experts from the Nomura Securities analytical company, Apple will sell 46.5 million iPhone 6 in the IV quarter of 2014. The novelty will account for 73% of all smartphones sold by the company. It is reported that the standard 4.7-inch model will be named iPhone 6 Air, and the 5.5-inch screen phablet – iPhone 6 Pro.

The analysts believe that Apple will set the minimum price for the iPhone Pro 6 in the U.S. at $ 299 (16 GB and cellular operator contract), which will be 1.5 times higher than the price of the iPhone 6 Air ($199). Accordingly, the price of the devices without a contract will rise at least by $100 (right now it starts at $649 in the U.S.). Market experts believe that the wealthy iPhone buyers will not notice the increase in the price of the new device.

“The increased price of the iPhone 6 Pro will not repel the potential buyers who are very interested in buying a phone because of its new features. Operators are aware that this device will become the leader of the flagship smartphones in the market, so they do not give up subsidizing the device,” – the Nomura Securities say.

Analysts are of the opinion that the increase in the screen dimensions would allow Apple to raise the prices of the devices safely and avoid any serious criticism and a drop in demand, while increasing its profits and revenues.

The experts of Nomura Securities suggest that the announcement of the 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch iPhone 6 will be held in September-October this year.
