A few hours after the iPhone 6 and Apple Watch presentation, Apple?s CEO gave an interview concerning many aspects of the IT giant functioning to the journalist Charlie Rose. During the conversation, Tim Cook covered a number of significant topics and shared his ideas about big-screen smartphones.

The full version of the interview was broadcast on the PBS channel this Monday, and a few snippets had emerged on the web earlier. In the video, the CEO says that the office of Apple?s founder Steve Jobs, which is located on the fourth floor of the company?s headquarters, remains untouched. The furnishing of the office is still left as it was before Steve Jobs?s death in 2011, and the name of the former CEO is still on the door. Tim Cook empathizes that Steve Jobs is deep in the ?Apple?s DNA?, and his spirit will always be the foundation of the company.

According to Tim Cook, the Apple TV miniconsole is not just the company’s ?hobby? anymore. The reason for it is that the number of users of the device totals more than 20 million people. Cook adds that the set-top box may go down in history because of its popularity, confirming Apple‘s interest in the smart TV technologies. He highlights that the modern TV lacks innovation, so it seems to be stuck back in the 1970s.

Another topic of the conversation is Apple buying the Beats Music. Tim Cook admits that he had been skeptical of the music service until one night he checked it out himself. He was amazed how accurate the Beats Music picks the tracks depending on the situation, the time of day, and the user?s personal preferences.

In addition, Cook shares his attitude towards big-screen smartphones. He asserts that Apple could have released a phablet a few years ago. Nevertheless, the Cupertino company set the goal to elaborate existing projects to release the best device in each of the aspects. Tim Cook points out that they developed a special Reachability mode so that big screens of Apple devices could be user-friendly. He refutes the interviewer?s assumption that the iPhone 6 Plus is the response to Samsung smartphones.

Currently there are three snippets of the two-hour conversation posted on YouTube. The first part of the Tim Cook?s interview on The Charlie Rose Show was broadcast on PBS on the evening of September 12, and the second part was shown on September 15.
