To increase the autonomy of smartphones, users have to take to external chargers with built-in batteries. The disadvantage of such devices is that they quickly run down even if they are not used.

Anthony Peacock from Australia has come up with a solution to the problem. He developed an autonomous charger Flat Attack which is powered by a battery. The stylishly designed compact device provides a voltage of about 1.5 volts. It is enough to charge the phone directly, without any additional converters.

The Flat Attack adapter is compatible with iPhones, iPods, Android-based devices, and other electronic gadgets. The power is supplied by one AA battery. It is very convenient for those who like the wilderness travel. Indeed, you can stock up on these devices and ensure the long battery life of your smartphone.

According to the Australian, one battery provides from 40 to 60 extra minutes of talk time. The charging takes only 15 minutes. When using nickel batteries of high capacity, the charging time will increase up to 2 hours. The device turns on automatically as soon as it is connected to the smartphone. A LED indicator shows that the mobile phone is charging. To replace the battery, you only need to remove the back cover of the device, take the old battery out, put the new one in and close the cover. The process takes a few seconds.

Peacock tried to raise money on Kickstarter, but he managed to get about $12,000 out of the alleged $30,000. However, the production of Flat Attack already started. The battery charger will go on sale in February. It will be priced at A$23 (about $19).
