Samsung has brought a number of its novelties, including the next-gen Galaxy Note 4 phablet, to the IFA 2014 trade show. According to analysts, the company aspired to leave Apple behind and therefore presented half-finished devices, which besides didn’t impress the audience.

In Berlin, Samsung displayed such novelties as the Gear S smartwatch, the Gear VR virtual reality headset, the Galaxy Note Edge phablet featuring a wraparound screen and the Galaxy Note 4 phablet. According to Brian White of Cantor Fitzgerald, the Korean giant rushed to showcase their projects and demonstrated “half baked” device, Onliner reports.

Gear VR 3 Analyst Says Samsung Wanted to Outrun Apple And Presented “Half Baked” Products

White regards the Samsung actions as an attempt to create a buzz and some kind of hype around their products on the threshold of the Apple event.

In his report to investors, White claims that the Korean company chose the incorrect strategy; Samsung just showed the devices, but did not provide enough information on their technical specifications, the exact release dates and the sales market. All the attention was given to some sophisticated features of the novelties.

As White says, Samsung did their best to ensure that the Apple presentation scheduled for Sept. 9 would be successful and look more advantageous than the announcements of their South Korean competitor.

As it was expected, Apple launched two new iPhone 6 models with different screen sizes. The company also displayed the innovative iWatch, which became the highlight of the evening. The event was held in Cupertino.
