It seems like Apple has recently halted the placement of orders for Mac components, both for notebooks and desktops. Considering this, keen observers began to place a lot of rumors related to Apple’s suppliers and the intentions of the company.

The alleged related upstream suppliers of Apple, stated for the news website Digitimes, that they’re still on hold for now because of a MAC inventory Apple has to make during April. However, they keep expecting to receive more information, instruction and orders from the iPhone manufacturer. It is said that after the Lunar New Year holiday, the supply chain orders of Apple didn’t decrease at all, and that the modifications are minimal.

The so called shift in orders, could mean that the Apple company placed more components demands than they needed in the last quarter, considering that the PC market is dropping in this moment. They usually follow a pattern in placing these orders, meaning that Apple usually sends to their suppliers a forecast of the shipments, applicable in the following 12 weeks. However, the suppliers claim that they didn’t receive that forecast in the second quarter of the year. Some of them are concerned that the orders might not be resumed before May.

As far as we know, the supply chains problems Apple faced so far represented a real concern, considering that the precision and the attention requested when manufacturing components for the Mac, made them make some compromises which had a major impact in the overall sales. Recently though, the sales for the Mac products seem to have grown again.

Because of the continuous changes in this industry, the consumers needs have also altered and now people prefer to buy smartphones, tablets or laptops instead of the traditional Pc’s. The Apple company, who is now one of the giants in the sales of tablets and smartphones, was usually winning figures thanks to these shifts in customer perception. If you remember, at some point Apple Ceo, Tim Cook named their iPad the poster child of the post-PC revolution.
