Apple is Proud of iPhone 4s Successes in the Market
Expert readers already know that the title of one of the first this morning’s news was the red flag for the haters of “the snobbish stump oratory”. They knew they had to spend half of the day examining the comments of the Apple representatives, who are professional in long talks about everything with nothing described specifically or in detail. It’s worth mentioning that during the latest quarterly report conference Tim Cook talked a lot about smartphones and tablets, although he gave a hint about some promising products – all in all as always.
Cook agreed that iPhone 4s is popular among buyers. In some parts of the world iPhone 4s was able to attract new buyers for Apple products – those new smartphone owners of this models totaled in some countries up to 80-85 %. Generally, trying to answer the analyst’s question about the possibility of emergence of smartphones in the new price ranges, Tim Cook explained evasively that the Apple wants to offer their products at a fair price, and whether it is high or low – is a minor issue. One should not assume that the success of the iPhone in the last quarter was only due to demand in the emerging markets. Apple smart phones still sell in the U.S., Western Europe, and the emerging markets show the most impressive growth in Brazil (61 % over six months), Russia (97 % over six months), Turkey (56 % over six months), India 55 % over six months) and Vietnam (262 % over six months).
As already noted,
- 85 % of the iPhone 4s buyers and
- 69% of the iPhone 5c buyers were buying their first Apple product;
- 62 % of the iPhone 4s buyers and
- 62% of the iPhone 5c buyers were switching to iOS from Android.
The volume of the smartphones market is estimated to be 1 billion units annually, and Apple believes that the smartphones will eventually drive “simple” mobile phones out of the market for good.
