Apple Officially Presented the 12-inch MacBook with Retina Display

On Monday, Apple introduced a new generation of laptops at the Spring Forward event in the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. A 12-inch MacBook model got a drastically new design and a passive cooling system.
The new MacBook is 24% thinner than MacBook Air; it is just 13.1 mm thin. The laptop is based on a14-nanometer processor of the Intel Broadwell generation. It became much thinner and lighter than its predecessors were, receiving a display with a higher resolution of 2304 x 1440 pixels. Apple positions the novelty as a transition type between the 11- and 13-inch versions. It is significantly smaller than the current 13-inch version and a bit thinner than the 11-inch model due to the edge-to-edge display.
Changes also affected the laptop?s touchpad; now it features the Force Touch technology. The touchpad also lost its mechanical button and started supporting new gestures.
The 12-inch MacBook got the fewest ports ever among all the Apple laptops. Its right side sports a standard headphone jack and two microphones, one of which is designed for noise reduction; the left side only features a USB Type-C port. Apple decided to abandon standard USB ports, a SD card slot and even Thunderbolt and MagSafe in the new laptop.
MacBook is available in three colors, Silver, Gold and Space Gray. The battery life of the computer makes up 9 hours when surfing the net and 10 hours when watching videos.
The 12-inch MacBook is going on sale on Friday, April 10. The model with a dual-core processor Intel Core M processor with a clock frequency of 1.1 GHz, 8 GB of memory, a 256 GB flash drive and the graphics processor Intel HD Graphics 5300 will be priced starting at $1,299. MacBook with a dual-core processor Intel Core M processor with a clock frequency of 1.2 GHz, 8 GB of memory, a 512 GB flash drive and a graphics processor Intel HD Graphics 5300 will cost $1,599.
