Apple Reveals Interesting Multitouch Patent

It seems like Apple received an interesting multitouch patent this Tuesday, along with the mention: no screen display needed. The things simplify, and you`ll be able to change an unwanted track, or to modify the volume while you`re performing another action, without being necessary to glace down on your device. All you need to do, is to touch your ipod`s screen. Apple asked for this patent since 2009, and we must say that it will come with a lot of benefits, like for example, the increase of your battery life.
As you probably know, an iPod nano user had the option to use the sliders in order to control the screen displaying. In this moment, Apple is thinking to create devices that are able to use multitouch user input, no matter if the screen is blank or not. This means, that there is a possibility to exclude hardware controls, and more than this, this option could extend to other devices too, such as iWatch, iPhone, iGlasses. Maybe Apple should think of beating with Google.
Related to the future multitouch motions, we can mention a clockwise circle that can be used to adjust the volume, and a simple touch of the screen that can play or pause a track. Even though the controls will not be displayed in the first place, you might see something linked to the appropriate gestures. As we could see in a report, for example, if you need to adjust the volume, you could see a volume slider arise on your screen.
Now, we are sure that you understand the benefits of an all the time active touchscreen, but think about the benefits that Apple could have by using this technology for its other products as well. This way, Apple could come on the market with low cost devices, competitive pricing or marketing to arising markets.
The introduction of the touchscreen as an input device and a display as well, could help the company lower the size of products, in the same way that the exclusion of the rocker switches and the needed hardware, reduced the cost.
So, smaller inputs which ask for small or no pause, will represent a great advantage over competitors new covered areas, such as: augmented reality, wristwatches, televisions.
In the end, it does not matter if Apple does not hurry to use this technology, because it still remains a competitive advantage and could produce a substantial revenue for Apple, due to its license.
