Apple?s New Technology to Prevent Accidental Keystrokes on iPhone, iPad and iWatch

The controls of the Apple mobile devices are becoming smarter. The United States Patent and Trademark Office has issued a patent that describes an improved system for recognition of the random touches that operates via sensors integrated in the buttons.
The new Apple?s technology will allow to distinguish accidental touches of physical buttons and targeted finger impressions. As part of the “Softkeys for electronic devices” patent, the experts from Cupertino describe the controls with the integrated sensors that allow the device to distinguish between the accidental and intentional finger strokes. As a result, for example, the volume or the power buttons of the iPhone will not function if they are pressed accidentally.
The patent states that this feature is particularly relevant for the buttons of the “smart” watches and other wearable computers that can often come into contact with other objects – bags, table top, walls, etc. Apple notes that accidental clicks filtering can be implemented not only in the smart Watch, but in smartphones, tablets, laptops and other electronic devices.
No information on how soon this technology will be implemented in the tangible products so far.
