As WWDC 2013 Approaches, New iOS 7 Rumors Emerge

Apple’s annual World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) 2013 will open its gates for the lucky guys that got their hands on the tickets on June 10th, and as the event where the iOS 7 will be officially unveiled comes near, more rumors about the next iteration of Apple’s mobile operating system surface.
After Scott Forstall stepped down from is role as head of Apple software division, Jony Ive, the charismatic Senior Vice President of Industrial Design at Apple is the one that handles the iOS 7 user interface affairs of the Cupertino-based company. According to sources close to Apple, one of Ive’s first decisions was to ditch the popular skeuomorphic desgin of iOS, which was backed up by both Forstall and Steve Jobs, in favour of a flat, black and white interface.
According to 9to5mac, the WWDC 2013 event on June 10 will reveal a refreshed iOS 7, that brings a new look, that ditched the skeumorphic interface over cloristic uniformity. According to the aforementioned source, iOS 7 will come with a flat design, which usese mostly black and white, abandoning the coloured textures, the chromatic elements and the shades.
The changes will affect bot the interface of the iOS 7 and the one of the native applications. Besides the fact that the apps will become simpler in terms of interface, which will affect the yellow texture of the Notes app, the green background of Game Center, or the wooden texture of News Stand, they will also receive new animation, and the Weather app will also be among them. Another unique element will be the use of a predominant color for each up, which would make the visual identification easier.
iOS 7 will reportedly bring native integration with Vimeo and Flickr services, which will join Twitter and Facebook, while the Notification Center and Lock Screen will receive a new design and new functions.
It’s almost a certitude that Apple will launch the new version of its mobile platform, iOS 7, at WWDC 2013, but the date when it will hit the first devices is yet unconfirmed.
According to some months old rumors, the iOS 7 development was also delayed, as Apple asked some OS X software engineers to join the iOS department in order to get it done in time. Traditionally, each major update of the iOS was synchronized with the launch of a new Apple smartphone, and the iPhone 5S is expected to debut this summer or early September.
