Budget iPhone Plastic Shell Leaked?

iPhone Plastic Shell 400x250 Budget iPhone Plastic Shell Leaked?

It seems that Apple is going to switch from its well known two tone aluminum shell to a polycarbonate shell similar to that of the iPhone 3G, 3GS or to the white G3 iMac, in order to reduce the manufacturing expenses. Even though we haven’t seen by now any real proof that would sustain the theory of the plastic iPhone, the rumors about it keep flowing and even  media giants like Bloomberg and WSJ, keep posting information in support of this theory.

The lack of physical evidence started to fade when Tactus, the case manufacturer ( which previously uploaded the shell of the iPad5), uploaded a picture which is supposed to contain the back case of the low budget device from Apple. Our advise is to keep a sip of doubt when looking at it, because we couldn’t establish the picture’s credibility, and we know that accessory manufacturers often make actions of this sort for obtaining free publicity.

The fact that Tactus posted the picture on its blog, with the comment via MacRumors, and the title Exclusive new budget iPhone leak, make us believe that this firm is giving us a free ride.

The aggressive way he chose for the watermarking doesn’t help its authenticity, though.

And why would he stop at that?

In another order of ideas, Tactus also revealed details concerning the price of the low budget iPhone, the date of its release and the thickness of the device. They tell us that the iPhone is going to be released on the market on 15th of October, at the price of $300 and that its thickness is around 0.4-0.6 mm. These information are so precise, you’d think Tactus had the opportunity to measure themselves the piece of shell shown in the photo.

The best part of their post is that this iPhone is supposedly going to run on an A5 processor with a diecast of 32 nm. He also claims that the device will have incorporated a 3.5 inch retina screen similar to the one in the 4S, but smaller than that of the iPhone 5.

Here you can see the picture Tactus posted last week of the alleged mold of the iPad 5. We continued to run this post, because we thought Tactus wanted free advertising.

Probably consumers will be pretty disappointed of the quality (better said, the lack of quality) of the plastic piece shown in the picture posted by Tactus.

We believe that even though the low budget iPhone is going to be less expensive and wear a plastic shell, it shouldn’t feel or look as cheap as seen in the photo above.
