Did You Preorder The iPhone 5C?

The newly announced iPhone 5C that will come in five different colors is available for preorder since this Friday, across the United States from Apple, Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile. The iPhone 5C uses a polycarbonate casing (in blue, green, pink, yellow, and white colors) and it replaces the iPhone 5 in Apple’s lineup. The iPhone 5C is available for $99.00 on contract (for the 16 GB mode) or $199 for the 32 GB model. Preordering at the Walmart store (as opposed to preordering online) will get you 20% off the above mentioned price. If you intend to get the iPhone 5C off contract (either from Apple or T-Mobile) you will have to pay $549 for the 16 GB iPhone 5c, or one hundred dollars more ($649) for the 32 GB model. Another option that you have if you intend to get an iPhone 5C is T-Mobile’s installment plan: you will receive an iPhone 5C with 16 GB of internal storage for $0 upfront but you will pay $22 per month for the next two years, for a total cost of $528.
On the other hand, if you intend to buy Apple’s new flagship, the iPhone 5S, it seems that your only option is to wait until it will be officially released, on September 20th. There is no preorder for the iPhone 5S, not from Apple or any of the carriers. The iPhone 5S’ price begins at $199 for the 16 GB model and goes up to $299 for the 32 GB model and $399 for the 64 GB model. If you intend to get the iPhone 5S off contract you will have to pay $649 for the 16 GB iPhone 5S and two hundred dollars more ($849) for the 64 GB model. There is also T-Mobile’s installment plan: you will have to make an upfront payment of $99 and you will also pay $23 per month for the next two years.
So, did you decide which iPhone is for you? The high end iPhone 5S or the more accessible, iPhone 5C that comes in a rainbow of colors? If you go with the iPhone 5S, you will get a far better camera sensor (with many added features), a 64 bit System on Chip (the first to ever be used in a smartphone) and fingerprint authentication, for just an extra hundred dollars. It seems like a good deal to us, but you may want to save that extra hundred dollars and go for the colorful iPhone 5C; even though it is made from plastic and does not have high end specs, it will save you some money and it does have iPhone 5′s specs so it’s still a very powerful smartphone. More importantly, if you opt for the cheaper iPhone 5C you won’t have to wait outside to get an iPhone on launch day – you can preorder right now.
