Download the new iTunes 11.0.3
Apple’s media player and media library app, iTunes, does not need any introduction. We are all using it and through the iTunes Store we buy music, videos, TV shows, games, podcasts, audiobooks, ringtones and movies (or rent them as in a few countries there is also this option). Well, iTunes was updated a few days ago; the latest version is 11.0.3 and it brings a few very interesting features that we will discuss next.
And we will begin with the most obvious feature: a redesigned MiniPlayer. The MiniPlayer was first included in iTunes two years ago; this redesign update it making it more compact so that it doesn’t use a lot of space when displaying the music controls and all the other functions. It also displays the album artwork. All in all, the new MiniPlayer is a worthy addition to this new version of iTunes and we believe you are going to like it. It resembles a lot the MiniPlayer Cydia tweak which offers a MiniPlayer for iOS that has a lot of visual similarities to the one introduced in iTunes 11.0.3.
Another important feature is the new song view, that received a lot of bug fixes and performance improvements. When you are in Song view mode, you will now be able to see the album artwork on the left side of the Song view mode. There is also a multi disc album support. The downside is that in some particular situation, when the album art is not available for a song (and this will happen), this new feature is of course useless.
Another nice feature is the ability to search through your whole iTunes library using the aforementioned MiniPlayer. Just as nice is the new option to access the iTunes Store while in song view and from there you will be able to buy songs and albums from the same artist. You will also receive recommendations based on that particular artist.
To download the 11.0.3 version of iTunes, you can head to the Mac App Store and check the updates tab. A very useful piece of information, that most of you would surely like to know, is that iTunes 11.0.3 is Jailbreak safe. You will be able to sync your Jailbroken iPhone or iPad without any major difficulties.
