Five Rumored Samsung Galaxy S5 Killer Features

Galaxy s5 400x250 Five Rumored Samsung Galaxy S5 Killer Features

In the smartphone industry, there is always a new flagship model just months away and the biggest manufacturers usually release two or more high profile devices per year. This fall is no different as many smartphones are speculated to be soon released. Of course, prior to a release there are many leaks and rumors, that let users know what to expect. However, these rumors work both ways, as they (by way of the user’s reactions to a rumor) also let manufacturers know what the users expect. The Samsung Galaxy S5 will of course follow the same path and with a rumored release just months away (this or next year) rumors already started to appear, letting users know what to expect from the Korean company’s next smartphone flagship.

As the Samsung Galaxy S line became one of the most (if not the most) popular smartphone series in the industry, people’s expectations have also grown with each release. This may be a double edged sword: while a healthy dose of hype is always needed, too much and people’s expectation might skyrocket making it very difficult for the actual product to match them. To match people’s high expectations, Samsung will have to include unique and innovative features in the fifth generation Galaxy S and in this article we will discuss five rumored Samsung Galaxy S5 features. If they are interesting enough to make you wait for the Samsung Galaxy S5 it’s for you to decide.

First rumored feature – 16 core CPU

As every Samsung Galaxy S4 owner can tell you, the smartphone’s CPU is one of its best features. While competition tries to provide innovative features and a unique experience, it must be said that the functionality of a feature is highly dependent on the deivce’s CPU. The Korean company quickly understood this and concentrated its efforts in this direction – as a consequence, all of its devices benefit from extremely powerful CPUs. The latest smartphone in the Galaxy S series is rumored to come with a 16 core CPU, which will be a premiere in the smartphone industry.

Second rumored feature – 16 MP camera

During the past two years, smartphone cameras have evolved so much that Nokia will release a smartphone (the Nokia Lumia 1020) with a camera that rivals a dedicated camera, having a 41.3 MP sensor with optical image stabilization (OIS), and a high resolution f/2.2 all-aspherical 1-group Carl Zeiss lens. The Nokia Lumia 1020 is a camera phone and it is pretty hard for any other smartphone to compare to it since most smartphones focus on being a phone first and a camera second (unlike the Nokia Lumia 1020); however the Samsung Galaxy S5 is rumored to include a camera with a 16 MP sensor, which will be very impressive compared to any other smartphone’s camera that isn’t named Nokia Lumia 1020.

Third rumored feature – A 32 Multi Touch screen

A 32 multi touch screen would be a very good news for gamers, as it will most likely improve user experience when playing games on the Samsung Galaxy S5.

Fourth rumored feature – 2 GB of RAM

This is not an innovative feature; on the contrary, when the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be released, 2 GB of RAM will more than likely be the norm in terms of memory. And not only for high budget smartphones; in 2014 we probably won’t see many smartphones with less than 2 GB of RAM whether they are high budget or low budget smartphones.

Fifth rumored feature – Carbon fiber body

This is an interesting feature and one the Samsung Galaxy S series really needs. The Samsung Galaxy S4 has good hardware and many features, but it is being held back by a plastic body, while Apple uses a metallic build for its iPhone line (the iPhone 5 has an aluminum body). Many manufacturers will continue to use plastic for their devices’ body (because as a material, plastic is cheap and it can offer a high degree of customization) in the near future, but if rumors turn out to be true, Samsung will make the transition to carbon fiber, giving the Galaxy S5 an elegant carbon fiber body.

The difference will be seen immediately and users will most likely appreciate the change to a carbon fiber body since the Samsung Galaxy S5 will not only look but also feel like a high budget, elegant, smartphone. Using carbon fiber for the smartphone’s build means the Samsung Galaxy S5 will be lighter and more stylish than the current Galaxy S4.

All of these (rumored) features already elevate the Samsung Galaxy S5 past the current Galaxy S flagship but we are sure besides these features Samsung also has other aces up its sleeve. The question is whether or not all these features will be enough to match the high expectations people have from the next Samsung flagship.
