Google I/O 2014 Registration Delayed A Week

google i o 400x250 Google I/O 2014 Registration Delayed A Week

In February, we reported that this year’s Google I/O the annual developer conference held by Google in San Francisco, California, will be held from June 25 and June 26, and will be held at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, just like last year. Google also changed the registration process, as stated in the official announcement: “Also, quick note for those who want to join in person: this year we?re making some changes to registration, so you won?t need to scramble the second registration opens. We?ll be implementing a new system, where you can submit your interest to attend Google I/O 2014. Successful applicants will then be randomly selected and notified shortly thereafter. We?ll be following up with more details from +GoogleDevelopers, so stay tuned“.

Registration for last year’s Google I/O developer conference was over in 45 minutes, which is why Google intends to have a much longer ?open? period, since they are just going to do random selection and it won?t be first come first serve as last year. Google was supposed to open the lottery for this year’s Google I/O developer conference yesterday morning, but unfortunately for those of you waiting to register, Google decided to delay the date a week; the lottery for this year’s Google I/O developer conference tickets is going to open on April 15th.

While the new method is an improvement from last year, not everyone will be lucky enough to win a ticket to Google I/O 2014. The lottery for this year’s Google I/O tickets will be open from April 15th until April 18th and during this period of three days, all available tickets will be given to randomly selected winners. If you aren?t lucky enough to be selected to attend the conference, you will be able to watch a live stream of the keynotes and sessions. Google I/O 2013 debuted with the release of Google Play Music and the Chromebook Pixel, which was also distributed to attendees, while this year’s conference is rumored to introduce the next generation of Google’s mobile Operating System, Android 5. Below you can read the official announcement:

We’re still working to make the registration process even easier for you, and it will now be open four days starting next week (opening next Tuesday and closing Friday). After the registration window closes, applicants will randomly be selected and we’ll send ticket purchase confirmation emails shortly thereafter. ?
