This being said you must also know that Apple decided to go on with using it’s own brand of maps called simply Maps. Also, they’re no longer using the data Google used to provide and have turned to TomTom and other for such services. But like any new beginning, this one too is prone to errors and missing features, but Apple has got this covered.

Reporting Problems With Maps In iOS 6

The first thing you have to do is launch the Maps icon from the home screen. There is a curling page at the bottom and you have to tap that also. Right above the Print button there is a text inviting you to Report a Problem. And now you only have to select the type of problem you have encountered; maybe the search results were not the ones you were expecting, maybe a street was mis-named or changed it’s name in the near past. It may also be that some of the satellite images are out of date and no longer show the correct terrain. Tap Next after you’ve selected your most probable problem and choose the search result or label that’s been bothering you. Tap Next again and add a comment pertaining to the issue. This will help people at Apple further understand what is wrong with the street or image you are reporting. When you are done, press your thumb on Send.

Your report will be sent to Apple and hopefully they will fix the issue in the near future.

Adding Locations and Businesses To iOS 6 Maps

Are you looking for that shop you used to visit and can’t find it in iOS 6 Maps? You can add it yourself so other people in your area might now if it’s existence. Launch the Maps app and tap the curling page at the bottom right part of the screen. There is a text saying Report a Problem. you can use this to add a new business or place in Maps so tap it and select Location is Missing. Tap Next and drag the pin on the screen to the exact location of the building or place you wish to highlight for others. Now all you have to do is enter some information identifying it and tap the Send button. If asked, add some comments about the place. You’re only helping others like you.
The people at Apple will most certainly receive your suggestion and if everything checks out, they will add it to their Maps application.
