How To Easily Forward, Copy and Delete iMessage on Iphone

For those of you who do not know, iMessage is a reliable alternative for standard messaging that comes with every mobile phone. The main advantage of iMessage is the option to send texts with no carrier charge, assuming you have a 3G connection or wireless connection and the recipient also owns an iOS powered device that supports this feature. It is very easy and can save you a lot of money.

Reading and writing iMessages is easy. You probably have done it tens of times. But did you know you can also Forward and not only Reply-to iMessages? You can also copy them or delete them at will. Why could this be useful? Because you can move information from iMessages to other applications such as Notes or Safari (in case you want to search for something). Deleting iMessages may contribute to your security, and not everyone wants to keep sensitive messages on their phone or tablet.

You can copy messages or parts of a message to later paste the text into another application or maybe another message. To do this launch Messages on your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch and select the thread that contains the message you wish to copy. Tap it and hold your finger until the Copy popup appears. Select that and the text will be waiting in the clipboard for you to paste it somewhere else.

To forward iMessages on your iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch you need to launch the messages app, tap the contact’s name whose message you want to forward, tap Edit in the upper right corner, select the message you would like to forward and tap Forward at the bottom of the screen. A new message window will appear containing your forwarded message and you can type the name of the person you wish to send it to. To select them tap the plus sign next to their names. Then you can finally tap the green Send button and the messages will be on their way.

To delete messages from iMessages launch the application and tap the thread containing the messages. Choose Edit and select the messages you wish to delete and press the red Delete button at the bottom of the screen to delete the messages you want. You can also delete all messages by tapping on the Clear All option in the upper right corer of your touchscreen.
