For example you get to sent text messages, images, browse the Internet and play games. The iPhone’s base function is to work as a phone and you can’t ignore or disable that. You fill your contact list with numbers and names and you can choose one of those to make phone calls and get in touch with people. A contact list also holds other means of reaching people such as e-mail addresses, street names, even social networking. Fist we need to make a list of contacts. The Contacts function you can reach directly from your home screen or by tapping into the utilities folder. If you contact has a webpage you can type it’s URL address in here too. If there’s extra information to be added, you can even add new fields. If you use Photo Roll, you can pick an image from the image list and attribute that to your contact.

 

Use you iPhone’s camera to take a snapshot of somebody’s face and add that to your contact’s photo. When you are done, you can save the newly-created contact and you will later be able to find it just by scrolling the list. This list will also support accessing it from the e-mail app, so be sure to complete those e-mail fields accordingly. You can also sort your contacts according to groups and you can do so from the contact list; you can also add them to your iCloud section. This can help you identify groups of people such as family, close friends, co-workers, neighbors and such.

The iPhone is highly customizable and you can adjust settings to better fit your needs. Tap the Settings icon and scroll down to the Phone entry which is located just above FaceTime. The first thing you see in the new screen after you tap this entry is your phone number. You can always get it from here in case you forget it. You can also set up Call Forwarding from this place and add an extra phone number that will receive all the forwarded calls. Below this you will find Call Waiting. The default setting for this is On. You Caller ID is also set to on. It will allow your number to be seen by the people you call. Turn it to the Off position if you want to make anonymous calls. If you happen to be calling numbers outside your country, turn on International Assist. this will automatically put a prefix in front of the number you call if that number is from another country. When you will open this you’ll see numbers that you can call, numbers that provide you with special services. You can use this to check your bill, getting assistance, view your plan’s minutes and connect via voice.

If you are using voicemail on your iPhone you can check out the Visual Voicemail feature. it creates a visual representation of your voicemails as they’re downloading into your phone. You can also opt to play them as audio files that will have caller information attached to them. You can also define phone shortcuts from here, to use in the dialing panel of your iPhone. Pressing the Call button when the dial screen is empty will bring up the last number you dialed. Pressing the #1 button will call your voicemail
