In Anticipation of WWDC: Apple Source Told about the Main Innovations in iOS 8 and OS X 10.10

The Worldwide Developers Conference, WWDC, where Apple traditionally showcases the latest innovations of its own, will be held June 2-6. While the world wonders what the company showcase in summer, Mark Gurman, the editor of 9to5Mac, citing a source close to Apple, spoke about the main innovations of the iOS 8 and OS X 10.10, which will be presented on the WWDC.
The main topic of the June conference, allegedly, will be a new OS X 10.10 edition of the desktop platform. The update should bring a significant upgrade to the appearance of the operating system. The transformation will not be as thoroughgoing as with iOS 7, but OS X will feature flatter elements, transparency and frosted glass effects, white textures instead of the current icons. According to Gourmet, the familiar elements of the desktop OS like Finder, Mission Control and multitasking will remain intact – in Apple does not plan to carry the principles of the iOS over the OS X.
Because of a serious redesign of the Mac operating system the guys at Cupertino will shift the focus of the presentation from the iOS 8 platform to the OS X 10.10. The name of the future OS is not yet known, according to one of the versions, it will be called OS X Yosemite, after the Yosemite National Park. The release of the new OS X edition is expected in the fall, along with the new Mac models.
In the iOS 8 (codenamed Okemo) Apple will retain all the same “flat” design created by Jonathan Ave, but will focus on additional services, applications and productivity. Particular attention is paid to health and fitness, as well as improved mapping service. A number of features of the new firmware will be presented at WWDC, but they will only appear on the iPhone and iPad by the end of the year or in 2015 with the release of iOS 8.1.
As to the basic iOS 8 functions, the Gourmet listed the features already reported in the previous posts. In particular, the operating system will allow you to recognize the audio tracks. This function will be powered by Shazam. This technology will identify the author of a track by a fragment of the song recorded with a built-in microphone and comparing it with the music database. The service will be built into the iOS 8 at the system level, as previously done with Twitter and Facebook. Thus, the owner of the iPhone does not have to download any additional apps. If a user wants to find out what music is playing now, he can ask the Siri voice assistant.
Apple’s iOS 8 will actively use A8, the next-generation processor. It will not introduce any drastic increase in performance, but it is more energy efficient. This is especially important due to the fact that the new iPhone 6 is going to receive a larger screen and a slim case that affect its battery life.
Another innovation in the iOS 8 will be its ability to support different screens resolutions (multi-resolution support function), which will improve the performance of the App Store applications and the operating system as a whole on the new models with “non-standard” screen resolution.
All the details about iOS 8 and OS X 10.10 operating systems will be announced in June at the WWDC conference.
