iPad 5th Gen To Enter Production In July-August

We have information according to which, the production for the fifth generation of iPads will start sometime around July-August, and our hopes of seeing Apple releasing a new product during this spring fade away as time goes by. The developer conference, which will be held in June, seems to be so close, that the major announcements will probably be spoken during it.
What tricked us into believing that something eventful might happen during this month, is the rumor according to which Apple was planning an iPad event for the end of this month. But this rumor got dismissed as soon as we stumbled upon a new supply chain report, in which it is stated that the next iPad generation, is only going to enter into production later this summer.
In DigiTimes reports, sources from suppliers in Taiwan state that the mass production for the 9.7 inch iPad is going to start in July-August this year, and that the yield rate for major components such as the touch panels are going to be a big worry for the production process.
In the report there are mentioned some future specifications of the iPad, which seems to be lighter and thinner than the previous iPad generation from Apple, and it is also mentioned that the design adopted will be similar to the iPad mini slim bezel design. However, we’ve been hearing that from certain outlets as well.
Another specification of the iPad 5, mentioned by the report is about its display, which is probably going to be powered by Sharp and LG. Some people even went on to say that in order to slim down the look of the tablet, Apple should choose the IGZO panels, or a similar technology.
The interesting fact about the production beginning in July-August is that, being such a far date, the new iPad probably won’t be announced at the WWDC conference, by Apple. Which make us think, that Apple allegedly lost the buying season from April-May, when schools usually order the supplies for the next year, but it also lost a huge chunk of the shopping season from August-September, and the returning to school.
Tell us what do you think about the information presented in this article. Is Apple ready to refresh their catalog with a new product until the end of this summer, or the beginning of the fall ?
