iPhone 5S, Budget iPhone Release Date May Be Delayed

As the title of the article says it, we come bearing some news today – it seems that there will be a delay in the launching of the upcoming Apple line of products: the iPhone 5S, the low-cost iPhone and ultimately the iPhone 6. This news came as a direct consequence of Peter Misek, analyst for Jefferies, who has paid a visit to the company’s Asian chain of suppliers which has afterwards lead him to the statement that when it comes to the release of the upcoming Apple products, we might be facing a date extension.
This would somehow impact Apple’s fight to stay ahead of its competitors – Google, Microsoft and Samsung who seem to be on a wild and invincible journey with the release of all of their new products, including phones and the whole range of smart gadgets (among which the so famous smart-watches too), and a delay would certainly not be what Apple had in the cards for this.
Getting more into details with this, we start by mentioning an alleged delay for the already so popular iPhone 5S and chances that this is the case seem to be more and more high. If we take a look back, it was initially believed that July would be the release date for the iPhone 5S and everybody was looking forward to this date so that they could get their hands on the smartphone. The Jefferies analyst takes it a step further and brings the budget iPhone and the iPhone 6 into discussion as well, stating that while we can expect the low budget device to be delayed up to the last quarter of the year, we would also not be witnessing the iPhone 6′s launch up to the year 2014. What are your thoughts on this news?
The Street Insider presents Misek’s declaration and clarifies that Apple is encountering a series of difficulties with the mass production for the iPhone 5S which would automatically translate into a delay of over a month leading up to several months potentially. In conjunction with the already officially acknowledged delaying of the iOS 7, this would lead to July being an unlikely date for the actual launch. Furthermore, when it comes to the iPhone 6, it is also unlikely that it shall be released in 2013 as additional difficulties with the suppliers have been encountered as well.
As it generally is the case, one bad thing might come after another and the delays in the iPhone 5S has certainly triggered a series of additional other delays. In this twist we shall of course include the iOS 7 and the iPhone 6′s date extensions, but we also need to add the iPad Mini’s overhaul to the list as well. In addition, in regards to the so rumored Apple iWatch, Misek claims he did not set eyes on any details to confirm its being developed, but he does give a rather more optimistic prediction in what concerns the iPad 5′s refreshing process. He claims that chances are likely that Apple shall go ahead with it, but the production numbers are not going to be too high on the other hand. Misek also dismisses the possibility of an iTV Apple release this year.
It is common knowledge that we have recently simply been bombarded in regards to rumors related to the upcoming line of Apple products and speculation does not cease to come up, however we all need facts, especially when your competitors are constantly releasing their new lines of product. Comparing their current situation with the one of their competitors, Apple should start pulling some internal strings and get it going with their products’ releases too.
Keeping in mind that on the 23rd of April we should be given Apple’s results for their Q2, Misek also claims that when it comes to share prices, they will not be doing very well for either Q2 or Q3, so predictions are pretty gloomy in this sense. And we might also be having low shipments when it comes to the iPhone and iPad devices for Q2.
What’s your say at this? I’m sure we have given you a little bit of food for thought to say the least, so do keep an eye on us to see what’s next.
