iPhone 5S To Feature 12MP Camera, Better Night Shooting Capabilities

Different rumors on the new iPhone 5S have been constantly in the news, but until now none tackled the camera subsystem. On Monday, a report out of Vietnam was released and presents a vision of the new iPhone 5S’s camera.
The first expectation is that the new device will have a camera module with a higher-resolution, and by higher we mean thirteen megapixel CMOS. Of course, compared to the existing camera available on iPhone 5 and 4S, it would be a five megapixel difference, which might mean a great improvement in the quality of the pictures.
Other sources express their impressions on the night shoot feature which seem to enhance the HDR mode which will lead to more realistic colors and higher intensity levels in extreme conditions (for instance see the extreme sunlight or the starlight). How many times did you have problems with a picture took in these conditions and you could not repeat it, as sometimes the pictures are taken on the spot of the moment?
The publication that investigated this story and came with the original source is the Vietnamese publication named Tnhte.vn. Usually the rumors come from unknown sources, but this time, the publication claims that the source is Wonderful Saigon Electrics in Binh Duong, specialized in iPhone camera modules.
And, what’s more, in the history of the Tinhte.vn publication, there were credible info when it comes to the iPod touch 4th generation and its camera. Also, in March 2012, before the launching of the iPad 3, the website posted a news where they claimed that the device will have a 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. When the iPad 3 was presented to the market, it contained a new A5X chip with 1GB of RAM.
And these are not the only examples, other relevant ones include the iPad 3 unboxing video and the EarPods clip which was redesigned. So, it seems that the publication is not in luck for each of the devices, but has a connection within the Apple’s company test department and that is why it is able to give accurate data on this topic.
Taking into consideration all the above, our opinion is that the new iPhone will surely have improvements when it comes to the camera. Following the line of the iPhone 5 which brought progression in the case of the iPhone photography and many other changes in the software, the iPhone 5S has the potential of being an upgraded device.
Coming back to the megapixel issue, a fact is clear: the iPhone’s camera has been of eight mexapixels from the release of the iPhone 4S, which happened in October 2011. No matter what the clients say, the matter of megapixel is a very argued one and for sure the number of iPhone lovers will increase if the camera will have thirteen megapixel instead of eight. The truth is that it would be great f0r a holiday to keep only one device for photos and leave the photo camera in the luggage or even at home.
The same situation above applies for the night shooting mode, imagine yourself on a holiday taking pictures with Apple’s iPhone 5S by night. It is expected to be comparable to the Lumia series from Nokia, which has no comparison yet with another smart phone, when it comes to its shooting performances
You have probably browsed Apple’s Why iPhone web page where the devices presented are considered to have the most popular camera in the world. What’s more is that the iPhone 4S, iPhone 5 and iPhone 4 are top 3 best cams on Flickr, according to the same source. Why that? Because, as Flickr reviewers say, not the megapixels make the difference, but the hardware and software which work together and let the user create great memories.
The Apple products, starting with the iPhone 4 (launched in the summer of 2010), have a funny and useful feature which lets the user take more than one image at a rapid succession. It is called HDR and stands for High Dynamic Range imaging; in case you had it and didn’t see its utility by now, start enjoying it!
What about you? Do the megapixels make a difference when it comes to the acquisition of a smart phone? Do you find a thirteen-megapixel camera with some of the above mentioned features a reason to buy yourself an iPhone 5S and leave the iPhone 5 behind? We would surely be tempted to, especially that the camera software is said to combine the levels of each pixel on each image, which automatically means that the picture will represent the reality, when it comes to lights and fidelity.
