New iPad 5 And iPad mini 2 Leaks
When talking about the next generation iPad tablets from Apple, we already saw a series of component leaks that offered a glimpse at the rumored design changes for the iPad mini 2 and the iPad 5. However, another, recent leak (that surfaced thanks to Australian blogger Sonny Dickson) is offering a very good look (the best until now) at how the two upcoming iPad tablets from Apple will look when they will be released.
The assembled iPad shell (that you can see in both the first and in the second pictures of this article) looks just like what it looked like in earlier leaks (including in last week’s leaked video that displayed iPad 5 parts). So, assuming the parts are real, it is safe to say that the fifth generation iPad will be two thirds of an inch narrower than previous iPad generations and it will also feature very slim lateral bezels, identical to the iPad mini’s bezels. As was the case in previous leaked pictures of the iPad 5, this iPad 5 shell is also missing the plastic insert for radio antennas that were seen on rumored iPad 5 parts earlier this year.
Regarding the iPad mini, Sonny Dickson’s leaked pictures also look exactly the same as previous iPad mini leaks (including last week’s video that compared the alleged iPad 5 with a second generation iPad mini). As you could see in last week’s leaked video, the iPad mini looks similar to the first generation iPad mini from a design point of view, which makes it harder to determine if the parts are authentic or not. As you know, Apple is holding a special event today and we will be covering it live. At this special event, the Cupertino based giant is expected to unveil one, or very probably two new iPhone models. While the iPhone models that will be unveiled will definitely be the stars of the conference, there is always the possibility of a new iPad announcement. We will keep you up to date.
