Production of 12-inch MacBook Air with Retina Starts in the Third Quarter

According to DigiTimes, the production of 12-inch MacBook Air laptops is starting in the third quarter of 2014. Quanta Computer will be responsible for the assembly of the computers designed to fill the niche between the 11-inch and 13-inch models of Air.
Insiders repeatedly reported that Apple was developing a new generation of MacBook Air with a 12-inch Retina screen. Despite the high resolution of the screen, in Cupertino they contrived the way to redesign the new laptop completely making it even more lighter and thinner.
The 12-inch tending to minimalism MacBook Air will be soft-running as it’ll be void of a cooling fan; it virtually approximates to an iPad. The touchpad is modified to become thinner. Instead of the mechanics responsible for a conventional click, there is another solution implemented, i.e. force and optical sensors are used. The range of peripheral input and output is reduced. As some informed sources say, the novelty combines the portability of the 11.6-inch MacBook Air model and the performance of the 13.3-inch model.
A DisplaySearch company told about a new generation of 12-inch Apple’s laptops as early as last year. Then it was reported that the laptop would feature a screen with the resolution of 2304 × 1440 pixels. The KGI Securities experts later confirmed that this model may be released in the second or third quarter of 2014.
Analysts believe that the new MacBook will help maintain interest in this class of products with its ultra-thin design.
