Razer’s iPhone Controller Leaked

There are many peripheral makers that are currently developing MFi (Made for iPhone) iOS 7 controllers, such as Moga with its Ace Power iPhone game controller (pictures of it leaked online some time ago) and Logitech with its PowerShell controller that can be bought for $99; many other peripheral makers are also working on their own MFi (Made for iPhone) iOS 7 controllers. One such peripheral maker is Razer, a well known privately held American company that makes high performance gaming peripherals aimed at hardcore gamers. It seems that Razer wants to enter the iOS market with its own controller. All controls will be pressure sensitive and the action buttons are rumored to be backlit.
This Friday, leaked images of what seems to be a press shot of Razer’s Made for iPhone iOS 7 controller. Razer’s upcoming controller’s name is Kazuyo. As you can see in the leaked images, the Razer Kazuyo is basically a wraparound case that covers your iPhone. Razer’s iOS 7 controller adds a directional arrow pad on both sides of your iPhone and also a pair of shoulder buttons.
It is not very different than Logitech’s PowerShell iOS 7 controller or Moga’s Ace Power iOS 7 controller from a visual point of view; however, a feature that separates Razer’s Kazuyo iOS 7 controller from the rest is the ability to tilt (to a 45 degree angle) the iPhone or iPod touch when docked, offering better vieweing angles and a more ergonomic experience. In the leaked images, a grille can be seen below the Home button which could indicate a speaker. You can see the leaked image of the Razer Kazuyo iOS 7 controller below.
At the moment there are no details about Razer Kazuyo’s price and availability, but as soon as we get more information about the controller we will share it with you. If you have ever used a Razer peripheral you know the company makes very high quality products; the Razer Kazuyo Made for iPhone iOS 7 controller seems to be of equal quality as the company’s past products, judging by the leaked images.
In the meantime, game developers have started to include support for Made for iPhone iOS 7 controllers in their games, thanks to the new APIs that Apple included in iOS 7 in order to allow third party peripheral makers to develop gaming controllers for the iPhone and iPod touch. At the moment there aren’t many games with support for Made for iPhone iOS 7 controllers; some games that already include controller support are: Asphalt 8: Airborne, an arcade racing game from Gameloft that supports standard controllers and Dungeon Hunter 4 and Gangstar Vegas which support not only standard but also extended controllers.
Other games have been updated or will be updated with support for Made for iPhone iOS 7 controllers; two iOS 7 games that recently received controller support are the award winning RPG Bastion and Dead Trigger 2 and many others will be updated soon, as peripheral makers will start releasing their own standard and extended controllers.
