Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch Price Is $299

Samsung Galaxy Gear 400x250 Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch Price Is $299

As you’ve probably heard, a new smartwatch was revealed by Samsung today during its IFA event organized in Berlin – Germany. Moreover, some other devices were announced during the event and among them the long waited Galaxy Note 3.  As far as we could see, the watch was dubbed as Galaxy Gear and it’s a complex device capable of accomplishing both standalone and integrated operations. You can have the Samsung Galaxy Gear watch for the price of $299.

When it comes to its specs, the Galaxy Gear was announced sporting a 1.9-megapixel default camera and a 1.63-inch AMOLED touchscreen display. Moreover, the new device comes out having 4GB built-in memory, a 800MHz processor, a speaker and two microphones. Please read further for more details.

On the other side, when it comes to the software, the new Galaxy Gear brings the voice control support through the S Voice option, makes video memos, it’s capable of receiving and making phone calls, and sending push notifications for various alerts and messages. All you need in order to perform these actions is a compatible device and a Bluetooth connection.

Anyway, we are tempted to believe that the new Gear will be compatible only with the fresh released Note 3, and Note 10.1, so the old versions could be out of discussion. But, according to the big Korean tech company the new device will be released having more than 70 different default applications from RunKeeper, Path, Evernote, and so on.

When it comes to the sensors part, you should know that the watch is sporting a gyroscope and an accelerometer which are capable of recording various fitness operations and the steps you make. The not so good part is related to the battery life. The battery sports a 315 mAh pack, which means it will last only for 24 hours and this will be a bit irritating, according to Vlad Savov.

Moreover, some other important things were observed by the same Savov during his hands-on time with the watch, such as the swipe gestures which are pretty difficult to understand due to the fact that they operate different actions depending on the menus and the place where you are at the moment. Moreover, a significant lag was noticed while trying to perform any action on the Gear.

As we’ve told you in the beginning Samsung unveiled today not only the Gear watch, but also a fresh Note 10.1 and the so waited Galaxy Note 3. As far as we saw, the new Note 10.1 sports a 10.1-inch  screen, an 8-megapixel camera and it’s running a 1.9GHZ CPU, while the Note 3 runs a 1.9GHz Exynos Octo CPU, sports a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, and a 13-megapixel camera.

Anyway, let’s return to the smartwatch matter. For those of you who are interested in having this device, keep in mind that the Galaxy Gear will be released on September 25, and you can have it for $299. Moreover, the device will be available in 6 different colors. Now, from our point of view this product has too many unpleasant aspects such as a low battery life, the not so good design, and only a few interesting features, so we must say it didn’t raised too much of our attention. So, now we are curious what Apple has to say.

Please feel free to share your thoughts with us related to the new Galaxy Gear smartwatch released by Samsung.  What do you think?
