While the Samsung Galaxy S4 is the Korean company’s flagship smartphone and the most successful in the company’s history, Samsung still has a few surprises left for this year. The Galaxy Note line of phablets was a huge success for the Korean company and the third model is expected to be released this year. As you would expect, many leaks and rumors started to appear regarding the Samsung Galaxy Note 3. If you are a fan of the Galaxy Note line of phablets and if you intend to get the latest Galaxy Note phablet when it will be released, make sure to read this article and get up to date with the latest news and rumors.
The Galaxy Note 3 Mentioned on Samsung’s Website
Even though the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 is still some months away from being launched, the smartphone has been mentioned on Samsung’s Kazakhstan website. While there were no photos, press renders or videos, the smartphone’s model number (“SM-N9000“) was spotted on the website. This is basically a confirmation that the device will come soon. Not long after this leak, there was another leak on Samsung’s official website, under the ‘Find Your Product‘ category. A new Galaxy Note 3 was spotted in this category, with the model number “SM-N900J”. You probably noticed that this model number differs from the previous Galaxy Note 3′s leaked model number. However it seems that both model numbers represent different variants of the Galaxy Note 3.
Leaked Images
A few images of a supposed Galaxy Note 3 prototype recently appeared on the Internet. In one of the leaked images, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 could be seen near two regular smartphones. In the image it can be seen that the Galaxy Note 3 is a real ‘phablet’, cvasi-confirming that the third Galaxy Note will have a 5.99 inches display. On the other hand, Samsung has a reputation for being able to keep the design of its devices a secret and has already in the past placed early prototypes in fake cases, different from the final design.
Camera Rumors
Until last year, Samsung wasn’t really in the top, regarding smartphone cameras. However, the Samsung Galaxy S4 shows that things have changed and Samsung now offers high quality cameras in their smartphones. The recent Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom shows that Samsung is making efforts to enter the niche of smartphone – camera hybrids. It also shows that the Korean company understands that users want good cameras in their smartphones. The Galaxy S4 Zoom however is aimed at a specific market niche. Back on topic, the Galaxy Note 3 will most likely be Samsung’s most powerful smartphone this year which means that its camera will also be of high quality.
One rumor suggests the Galaxy Note 3′s camera will include many new features such as 3x optical zoom and optical image stabilization. In the world of mobile devices, optical zoom is a pretty rare feature so a 3x optical zoom could be one of the third Galaxy Note’s biggest advantages if it will be implemented. However, including this feature would probably increase the phablet’s thickness so there is some speculation that Samsung dropped this feature. Optical image stabilization on the other hand, is still a rumored feature and considering the fact that many smartphones are already using this feature, it is more than likely to see it included in the Galaxy Note 3.
Specs
One of the most important aspects of a smartphone are its specs. Unfortunately there is nothing official so far, but we will probably receive information at the Galaxy Note 3 unveiling, which is rumored to take place at this year’s IFA event that will be held this September in Berlin.
There were a lot of rumors saying that the third Galaxy Note phablet will have 3 GB of RAM, This amount might seem a lot for a smartphone, but considering that there is quite a lot of multitasking involved, a 3 GB of RAM might be required. The phablet’s display seems to be 5.99 inches in size and capable of Full HD (meaning a resolution of of 1920 x 1080 pixels). It also seems that the Galaxy Note 3 will be powered by a Snapdragon 800 CPU clocked at a higher frequency than 3 GHz, a CPU that is also more powerful than the Exynos 5 Octa. Its camera will also be upgraded to 13 MP if we are to believe the rumors. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 will be running Android 4.2.2 or maybe it will be the first smartphone to come with Android 4.3.
You can expect news and rumors to continue to appear until the phablet’s official unveiling. Please use the comments section below to share your thoughts about the third Galaxy Note phablet.
