Samsung Electronics Corporation has officially presented a smartphone that might be considered the most powerful in the market. This refers to a modification of Galaxy S5 supporting the high-speed LTE-Advanced networks. Unlike the flagship announced previously the novelty is not only compatible with the new communication standard that enables Internet data transmission at speeds up to 225 Mbit/s, but also has specifications enhanced even further.

The model named Galaxy S5 LTE-A features a 5.1-inch QHD screen with the resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and the pixel density of 557 ppi. Recap: its predecessor has a screen of the same size with the resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (431 ppi). The pixel density of its LG G3 competitor is 538 ppi.

The changes also concern the architecture of the processor. The new device features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chip with quad Krait 450 cores, 2.5 GHz clock frequency and the Adreno 420 graphics card. In Galaxy S5 the developers used a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chip. RAM increased from 2 to 3 GB. The maximum capacity of the built-in flash drive remained intact 32 GB, but the supported capacity of removable microSD memory cards doubled (up to 128 GB).

The rest of the specifications have a lot in common. The Galaxy S5 LTE-A smartphone features a 16-megapixel camera that can shoot 4K videos at 30 fps and 1080p videos at 60 fps. The front camera remains the same 2.1-megapixel.

The battery capacity is 2800 mAh. The operating system is Android 4.4.2. Just like Galaxy S5 the device is watertight and dustproof as per IP67 standard.

The dimensions of the smartphone are 142 x 72,5 x 8.1 mm and the weight is 145 grams. A fingerprint scanner, a barometer, and heart rate meter are also featured in the novelty.

Samsung starts selling Samsung Galaxy S5 LTE-A in their native South Korean market on June 19. The price of the device is about $920. Presently, there is no information on its availability in other countries.
