The jury found Samsung guilty of violating two Apple?s software patents. At the same time claims for two other patents were rejected. Now the South Korean manufacturer is obliged to pay the plaintiff $119.6 million, which is by one order less than those $ 2.2 billion Apple claimed for the damages.
At the same time, the court acknowledged the Samsung?s claim against Apple on one of the patents. Payments due to the South Korean company will amount to $158.4 thousand.

Samsung and Apple are the largest smartphones manufacturers. According to IDC, in the first quarter of 2014 Samsung shipped 85 millions of “smart” mobile devices, and the share of the South Korean manufacturer in the world market was 30.2 %.
