Should I upgrade to iPad Mini and iPad 4?
Being just released on the market you?ll probably want the newest and hottest iPads from Apple, but do they? really stack up? do they? worth the money? Many of you would say that this is?an apple profile blog and my job here is to persuade people to buy one of them, well in a way this is true, but let?s not forget that the iPad is not the only one out there, there are still ?a bunch of manufacturers out there competing for the world best selling tablet. It may? or may not come the day when you’ll decide that is time to buy yourself a tablet and when that day comes make sure you’ll check out the market first before you take a decision.
Buying your first tablet
So if you’ve ?never owned a tablet before and you are looking for the right one that best suits your needs, we got some tips for you here. In the beginning lets talk about Apple iPads, a bit of history. ?Apple presented to the world ?it’s most significant product launch in its history; the making of an entirely new class of computer for the company. At that time the world didn’t knew about such devices but before it Microsoft tried its luck ?in 2001 with Microsoft Tablet PC but with no way near the success of iPad. Today Apple has a market share of over 68% , ?Samsung 9.6%, Amazon.com 5%, Asus 3.4%, Acer 12.3% and other 12.3%. As you can see for yourself Apple has it all here for the moment. So what tablet you should get now? the best of what’s out there or the rest? As always i can only recommend you to get the ipad, its the best damn tablet on the market and will provide the best experience for the most people, but ?you may need a tablet that offers something Apple’s iPad doesn’t. So let’s see the competition:
Microsoft entered too on the tablet market with the release of its Microsoft Surface. Running a Windows 8 operating system and having ?a keyboard too its even one step closer to its bigger relative the laptop. Go check it out you mat like it.
If you are not a fan of Apple’s and you are currently using Android devices and you love its ecosystem well you’ve got where to choose. A variety of tablets out there are running an Android operating system, with different screen sizes and specifications like Nexus 7, Transformers series or Galaxy series and as well a lower price tag.
If you live in U.S and are all in on Amazon, and don’t really need a full-on tablet the Kindle Fire may do the trick.
As a last solution we have BlackBerry, small tablet ultra-cheap the BlackBerry Play Book it’s only 150$ in some bargain bins.
Still not convinced?
Upgrading from iPod touch to the iPad mini or iPad 4
For those who want to make it to another level, from iPod touch to the iPad mini would be the best solution but with some drawbacks. iPad mini is less portable, heavily and with a lower screen resolution. Both have equal specs, a 4:3 aspect ratio screen and what’s the most important the ability tu run iPad apps aside to you existing iPod touch apps. In my personal view this is the best choice if you want to upgrade and don’t need something you can slip into your pants pocket. Having also ? has a cellular option but at a slightly higher price it may do the trick. Now iPad 4 its something totally different, it’s no way near as portable as the iPod touch. Much more bigger screen 9.7 inch, more?powerful?than an iPad mini and with a retina display is something that gets more close to a MacBook Air ,but if you don’t need that much computer, it’s a great choice.
Upgrading from the original iPad to the iPad mini or iPad 4
If you still own the original 2010 first generation ?iPad, i strongly advise you to ?upgrade. ?The 2010 ipad with a lower ram, slower processor, more bulky, lower pixel density is seriously underpowered, unless you really want to squeeze al you can get from it, both the iPad mini and the iPad 4 are compelling upgrades. The advantage of coming from the first generation of iPad is that the iPad mini can be a great improvement too if you want something smaller, more portable, slightly better screen density having a smaller screen size and much more powerfull. This is the right choice if you want a slightly smaller screen size but still want all your apps and content. If you are guiding on the principle bigger is better, the newly released iPad forth generation will be a great improvement over the first generation. Almost all hardware components have changed since 2010 model. More ram, processor, graphics, front and back camera, thinner and the most visual improvement the retina display is all you can get from a tablet at this moment. Upgrade to the iPad 4 if you want the best of what its currently on the market.
Upgrading from IPad 2 to IPad mini or IPad 4
Now IPad 2 is still sold by Apple and just because its 2 generation older doesn’t mean that it can’t handle all your throwing at it . I currently own an IPad 3 and IPad 2 and from my experience the IPad 2 its a decent tablet so if you are happy with it and don’ t want to spend extra money on a more powerfull processor and a retina display, you don’t have to worry about upgrading at all. Wait to see what Apple does with the 2013 IPad. The IPad mini doesn’t outrun the IPad 2 but its lighter smaller and more portable. ?Actually they’ve got the same specs, but its only 80% the size and less than 50% the weight. If you are a lazy person as me you the IPad mini may be a better choice for reading in the bed. Also being smaller means that you can carry it more easily ?with you when doing your daily work, apple even says that it can fit in a larger pocket . I doubt that tho. The IPad 4 comes with a new A6X chipset making it the fastest tablet currently on the market? ?What could you want more ? Not only has the retina display which is a big improvement over the IPad’ s 2 display but also Apple Implemented a new LTE chip for even faster networking. ?The 4G LTE network connectivity is significant because it means that you can stream movies ?or download files at network speeds between 5 mbs and 12 mbs, even when WI-FI isn’t available. But at current prices probably most of you will still likely opt for the Wi-fi only version. As a roundup the IPad 4 is you choice if you want a performance improvement, 4G connectivity and a retina display.
Upgrading from the IPad 3 to the IPad mini or IPad 4
Apple broke the chain of IPad releases by launching the next generation of IPad on 02.11.2012, just 7 months ago the IPad 3 was released, which mean that there’s almost no reason for anyone who got one to consider upgrading to an IPad 4. The IPad mini is slower then the IPad 4, it lacks the retina display, it has slower chipsets and also its smaller too. You should only consider switching ?to it only if you really nead a smaller, lighter device. The only upgrades from the IPad 3 to the IPad 4 is LTE connectivity and A6X chipsets, so you should only consider ?upgrading if you really consider that the IPad 3 is slower for you or you really need faster cellular data traffic. ?Also if you have money to burn you can always buy what’s new on the market, this is the part where i envy you.
Upgrading from an Android, Windows, or other tablet to the IPad mini or IPad 4
If you are coming ?from other tablets and you are not happy with them, or for just about ?any reason you didn’t like it
One of the reasons why Apple has so great success with its product its because it’s very user friendly operating system. If it’s not easy to use, it is considered worthless to the consumer. All of the products they create are intuitive and easy to understand and learn, but as technology has become more intricate and users want more features, this task became sometimes difficult. Apple is the only company where ease of use is more important than the product itself. This is what it defines its approach to creating anything for the market. But at the same time it’s highly appealing to expert and veteran computer users as well.
All of Apples products have ITunes and now ICloud, essentially this two grant users different services starting from synchronizing your contacts, emails, photos, videos, music, aplications, podcasts, TV shows, to backuping your hole settings, configuration and everything else that you have on your device to your pc. And ?the best part is that now with the ICloud all of them can be done without the cable over wi-fi.
Once a year when Apple sees fit releases a new version of IOS for all of its products. When this happens you don’t have to wait for manufacturers or carriers they just work.< If you live near an Apple Retail Store and you have a problem with your IPad, can often be fixed on the spot. Only on an Apple Retail Store you don’t have to wait for the carrier to send it to the manufacturer for lenghtly repairs. You make a Genius Bar appointment, you show up, they fix your tablet or swap it for a new one. Also they can help you to setting ?it up or teaching you how to use it properly.
The Ipad fits into Apple ecosystem. You can share your apps, photos, content, contacts everything that there is to share with your other idevices, IPods, IPhones, Mac computers over ITunes or ICloud. Easy and simple.
