T-Mobile Sold Half A Million iPhone 5 Devices In Just Three Weeks

T-Mobile, which as you have probably read, is the last major US carrier which sells iPhone devices, made an announcement regarding their Apple sales.
Yesterday the company released its financial results for the first quarter of 2013 and the results are great. For instance, when it comes to iPhone 5 devices, they have sold about 500,000 units to its customers. The result is a good one, considering that the iPhone has been released about eight months ago. Other smartphones don’t even dream of these figures in such a short time, even if they are offered on multiple carriers. Also, what is worth to be mentioned is that the iPhone 5 is available in the T-Mobile network starting 12th of April. If we calculate the same units sold to a whole year, the number shows ten million handsets per year
The T-Mobile CEO John Legere confirmed the figures: 50,000 units in the first quarter of 2013. Also, the press released announced that T-Mobile gained an average of 100,000 new iPhone customers who moved their handsets from other carriers. They took advantage of the “Bring Your Own Device Program” (Bring your own phone to T-Mobile and save up to $49,99/ month). The program translates in the following way: The condition to bring your phone is to have an unlocked one. If so, bringing the device and switching to the T-Mobile career brings the owner great discounts.
What is interesting to mention is that the T-Mobile carrier did not make a separation between the iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S models – actually this number might have confirmed the trust the customers have in the T-mobile network and also in Apple’s products.
Back in March, when the carrier announced that it would start to sell the iPhone devices, also blamed the fact that it didn’t carry the iPhone for losing subscribers to other carriers that did. So, there came the charges for service plans and the idea to let the customers pay for their services each month. What customers can do now is make a down payment and then pay it off over the next two years. One example might be that the iPhone 5 should be sold for $ 100 down (which could be considered an advanced payment) and other $20 per month for the next 24 months.
What do you think of the results the T-Mobile carrier has since the iPhone 5?
