The Apple Watch Unveiled

Besides the new iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus smartphones, Apple announced their first wearable computer at the Sept. 9 event in California. The corporation’s CEO Tim Cook presented the device named the Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch is Apple’s first original product designed after Steve Jobs’ death. It has been three years, and now Tim Cook is in charge of the company. The smartwatch comes in different sizes and designs, including the 18-carat gold casing version. The squared-screen device features health and fitness tracking; it launches apps, and displays maps and photos.
“It is a brand new product. We hope that it will change people’s idea about this category of devices”, said Cook.
The company integrated a few sensors enabled to monitor one’s overall health condition along with some vital parameters of the body into the Apple Watch. The measurements are performed by means of optoelectronics and transferred to the mobile device paired with the smartwatch.
The Apple Watch will be able to track breathing rhythm and heart rate. Making measurements throughout the day, it will give you an overview of your general well-being and physical condition. With the Apple Watch, you can control the Apple TV and search for your iPhone in case of its loss; you can even use it as a radio set.
The product is waterproof. The screen of the smartwatch is covered with sapphire crystal. The set includes a stylish magnet-mount MagSafe wireless charger.
The Apple Watch home screen comprises a scrollable kaleidoscope of icons. The user unblocks the screen just by raising their hand up. Thus, you don’t need to push any buttons to check the time. The watch features Apple Maps, and you can zoom into and out of your location using the “digital crown”. As stated by Apple, it is much more practical than touching the screen with your fingers.
The Apple Watch features a touchscreen that recognizes not only a touch itself, but also the so-called Force Touch with more pressure put in it. You can return to the home screen pushing the “digital crown”.
Apple made a diverse smartwatch line-up comprising models of two screen sizes, three versions (the Apple Watch, the Apple Watch Sport, and the Apple Watch Edition), and six types of bands. The modifications made of yellow and pink gold will be on sale as well.
The device enables replying to messages. This is due to the virtual assistant Siri featured, which is already familiar to iPhone users. Of course, Siri recognizes other voice commands, too. A micromotor will bring SMS and other notifications to the user. The Apple Watch is fully compatible with Apple Pay, a new electronic payment service.
The Apple Watch is compatible with the iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, iPhone 5, iPhone 5c, and iPhone 5s. The device is priced at $349 and up; it will hit the market at the beginning of 2015.
