The Best iPhone Twitter Apps of 2012

There are numerous Twitter apps available in the Apple Store that you can download on your iPhone. After checking several of them, we ruled out those with features that had virtually no use, those with boring and awful user interface. This way it all comes down to a few that really are worth downloading.
Three months ago I have started to ask people that were following me on Twitter what is their favorite iPhone Twitter app and made a list with all responses.
It is obvious that we all have our personal favorites for example I like Tweetie 2, but when it comes to rank the best of the best in terms of Twitter clients on the iPhone we considered a lot more factors. After we ranked the most used apps I decided to also add the key features behind your choices based on your Twitter responses.
1.Tweetie 2
The best Twitter app award goes to (you may have guest it) Tweetie 2. Redesigned from scratch with a more powerfull core, Tweetie 2 probably offers the best Tweeter experience. Like I said, Tweetie 2 is also my all-around favorite Twitter app and it was no surprise that you like the most too.
According to your responses here is exactly why:
- Tweetie 2 can manage multiple Twitter accounts
- The UI is very well designed and easy to use
- Works very fast
- Great functionality
- Very reliable
- You can use it to edit your profile without switching to your PC browser.
- It features list integration
2.Twitterrific
To be honest with you, I have not installed the Twitterrific app on my new iPhone 5, but i remember trying it with my iPhone 4 and removed it shortly after due to the messy user interface. But based on your responses it seems that Twitterrific managed to climb up to second place.
You use Twitterrific because:
- It has a nice user interface (really?)
- It is very easy to use
- It displays conversation threads between different users
- A wide choice of themes and layouts are available for customization.
3. Echofon
One of my vest friends has been using Ecofon since it was released. Although it’s quite expensive, he told me he likes it because it is very fast and responsive and the user interface is very sexy.
According to your responses, you like Ecofon because:
- The design is simple
- It is very reliable
- It it has the option to send or receive push notifications
- You can use it to upload pictures to Flickr very fast.
4. TweetDeck
TweetDeck is one of the free Twitter clients that made it on our best Twitter apps list. Many of you are already used to the desktop version and maybe this why you also love the iPhone app. For basic users TweetDeck does its job pretty well.
You like TweetDeck due to:
- It can sync with the existing TweetDeck columns that you already have.
- The app is kept simple
- Fast response
- The ability to create groups
- The ability to create multiple screens
Tweet Deck can be yours for free from the App Store.
5. qTweeter
Although qTweeter is an iPhone app that requires jailbreaking your device it managde to climb up to place number 5 on our list.
The lack of feedback on why you exactly like it makes me unable to detail why you installed it on your devices.
Other Twitter iPhone Apps that are worth mentioning:
Up next I will present you a list of other Twitter clients that did not make it in the best Twitter app list but are worth mentioning if we were to consider all your responses.
- TwitBird Pro
- SimplyTweet
- TwitBit
- BirdFeed
- Twitterena
