The Cupertino Company Launches Apple TV 3 In India

We just found out that Apple has recently launched Apple TV 3 in India. This was possible because, as we know from their latest reports, Apple raised its sales in this area. We are talking about a substantial raise of sales (four times bigger than it used to be). So now, the company tries to cover the whole 1.25 billion people market with its new product. The new Apple TV enters the market with a higher price close to $150, because of the VAT and major import taxes in BRIC countries, such as India. If you look for the same set-top box in the United States, you will be able to find it at a price of $99.
This new release was expected, if we take a look at last year`s Apple actions. If you didn`t know, iPhone 5 was launched in India somewhere in November, and after that, more precisely in December, Apple officially released the iTunes Stores in 56 countries and of course one of those 56 was India. So they checked and prepared the market before this new release.
Even though BGR India found on Apple’s India Website information concerning the new TV from Apple (a whole page dedicated to it, actually) and even some commercials on India iTunes that promote movies from Bollywood studious, the PR of Apple didn’t post or say anything related to this subject. This is pretty surprising, considering that in India the new product is being promoted almost everywhere.
If before this new release, the Apple costumers from India were constrained to acquire their favorite music, iOS app, movies and television shows using exclusively U.S. dollars, now they can breath easily because they can buy everything they need and want using their local currency.
As we could find out, it seems like the Apple company is trying, in the present moment, to reach a partnership with one or more Indian content providers. This could help the company, by adding local content streaming services. This move is not new for Apple, they did the same thing in Germany. All the information came from an Apple India official, who passed it to ThinkDigital. More than this, ThinkDigital pointed out many others HD media players from this country, such as Amkette’s Flash TV HD, WD Live HD and Asus’ O! Play Mini.
Old rumors make us ask: what about the Apple Stores? We all expected for a long time now, for this to come in India. Still, we have no news related to this matter.
The latest news we had about this subject, were those concerning the debates that Apple had with Indian authorities about the sales policy. It seems like there are some limits when it comes to one non local company that wants to open a store in this country. A foreign company is not allowed in India, to have all the rights and work with only one brand retail store. They are pretty restrictive, so we suppose that they are still negotiating these limits.
