According to a recent report, with the release of both the the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 during this year’s third quarter, Apple will record a huge wave of sales. But until then, Apple will be confronted with a decrease in shipment numbers for the iPad 4 and according to analyst Ming-chi Kuo from KGI Securities, by the end of this month shipment numbers will fall to approximately 15 million units.

The iPad shipment will withdraw with about 40 percent of what it was in March this year. This is reported by Ming-chi Kuo as the biggest disappointment since Apple released the original iPad tablet. While things aren’t very good for Apple, Samsung is gaining ground in the tablet market, more exactly, it registered a growth of 283% since last year. However, Apple is expecting to release their new tablets this year, which are claimed to be a ‘boom’ on the market and despite Samsung’s good numbers, the upcoming tablets from Apple are actually the biggest threat to the current iPad models.

Analyst Ming-chi Kuo believes that iPad Mini 2 and iPad 5 will be released sooner than we think because of the  decrease in tablet sales during the second quarter of this year and also due to the reports about a new Retina Display for iPad Mini 2 and the slimmer, smaller and even more lightweight iPad 5.

This decrease in sales might force Apple to release the next generation iPad tablets earlier than planned. Mr.Kuo said that if Apple will release their new products in August it is almost sure that they will regain their popularity on the tablet market by the end of September and they will not only register record sales but also cover the current loss.

Apple gadgets aficionados are already enthusiastic by the numerous  rumours of what features the new tablets will include. According to some rumors, the iPad 5 will be borrowing some parts from the iPad mini’s design and some analysts reported that the iPad 5 will be slimmer, thinner and lighter even if it will keep a screen size of 9.7 inches. Apple might think that with such a move they will regain their user’s trust and remain the first and the best tablet seller in the world.

When it comes to the iPad mini 2, there are a lot of rumors about its specs and features but there is a rumor that everyone is talking about and that is about the possibility that the next generation iPad mini will be released with a 7.9 inch Retina display, which is absent from the current iPad mini. The lack of a Retina display is arguably the tablet’s major downside.
