Windows 10 will not Help Microsoft Stop Users Switch to Mac

A new operating system Windows 10 has been released recently. A number of the industry’s experts are pessimistic about the novelty. They believe that Windows 10 will not be of any help to Microsoft in pushing up PC sales or slowing down the users’ switch to Mac.

According to analysts, the new version of the operating system is primarily an attempt of Microsoft to fix the bugs of Windows 8, which were the reason why the OS failed to become popular.

Hardware vendors expected that the release of Windows 10 would revive the IT-industry, but the grim market reality is a kind of discouraging. According to the Net Applications statistics, having been on sale for nearly two years, Windows 8 is still significantly inferior to the market share of Windows 7 released in 2009 and even that of Windows XP, which was already deprived of Microsoft support.

It got to the point when the enraged original equipment manufacturers accused Microsoft of provoking users to switch to Mac computers with Windows 8. Dissatisfied with the new Windows features, users pay attention to the more classical design provided by Apple.

Apple products were always considered premium and unaffordable for average people. However, the Cupertino company started releasing low-end tablets lately, and the Apple phones are widely purchased for employees in the United States. In addition, MacBook Air are priced at much the same level as ultrabooks of other manufacturers. As a result, users actively part with Microsoft based hardware solutions in the favor of Mac.

Due to the lack of new features, Windows 10 is not able to encourage consumers to buy new PCs. Those who are going to switch to Mac will not be interested in this operative system either. The new OS X Yosemite looks more innovative than the latest Microsoft product.

It is worthy of note that some analysts expect a decrease in demand for devices running Windows 10 because of Apple Watch. The gadget is to hit the market in the first quarter of 2015, which means that the Apple novelty will steal the show.
