Would You Buy A More Expensive Retina iPad Mini?

iPad Mini2 Would You Buy A More Expensive Retina iPad Mini?

The autumn of 2013 might bring great improvements when it comes to Apple products. This time we are talking about the tablet products which seem to have surprises prepared for their future users. The latest report on this issue stated that the company will have improvements on the 9.7 inch iPad, the most interesting one being the high-resolution Retina display, as you will see below.

Actually, the users of the version of iPad mini which is now on the market had one complaint referred to the screen resolution. So, it seems that Apple is really taking into account the users’ feedback. iSuppli states that the future iPad mini users might have the chance to have great screen resolution if they pay for it. How? Well, according to the Mac Observer, the iSuppli report stated that the price for the 7.9 inch panel is approximately $32/ unit and the total costs for an entry-level iPad mini is approximately $ 188/ unit. The market observers forecast that the cost for the iPad mini will be higher with about 30% in the case of a Retina panel. This is because the number of LEDs used will increase, but at the same time the advantage is that the dots per inch (DPI) will be higher and the brightness of the panel will improve.

The forecast also said that the price per unit will increase with $12 (which, as we said before, is 30% out of the total sum. So, the Apple producer will have 2 options:

  • Raise the prices on all iPad mini models (new released ones), which means that the customers will have to pay more for the products (and we are not sure all are willing to)
  • Keep the extra costs and hide them in other costs, so that the price remains the same

Actually, if we bring to mind the times that Apple changed the price for the same product in one generation to the next, we can’t find a situation. Still, many people thought about this issue and their conclusion is that Apple will raise the price, as the actual $329 is a low one for the Retina display to be available for the next iPad mini.

In fact, the Retina iPad display might bring other changes in the design of the tablet. For the moment we talk about a 0.28 inches (which means 7.2 mm tablet) which weights 0.69 pounds (which means 312 g). So, these might be changed, together with the display tech and other things that would improve the Retina display tool.

All these remain a mystery until the autumn of this year, to be more precise October. In October Apple might bring to light info about the new mini and the redesigned iPad 5. Still, Apple seems to make this Apple product – the 7.9 inch tablet – the company’s most popular product so we are sure we will come back soon with forecast about this product.

What about you? How much would you pay for an iPad mini with Retina display? $25, $50 or more? We are very excited about this product and we are sure it will come on the market with great improvements.
