LG’s upcoming flagship, the LG G3, is going to be unveiled soon, as Samsung, HTC and Sony have already unveiled their flagships for 2014s: Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S5 (which was just released on April 11), HTC announced the second generation HTC One (codenamed M8) which was released last month at the same day as its unveiling (March 25) and Sony unveiled the Sony Xperia Z2. We already heave leaks for the LG G3. Besides the Optimus user interface, the smartphone’s specs have leaked a few days ago. Now we have the first look at the upcoming device from LG.

The leaked image shows AnTuTu Benchmark’s results screen on the LG G3. The first thing you notice on the AnTuTu Benchmark’s results page is confirmation that the LG G3 will feature a display capable of rendering in Quad HD resolution (2560 x 1440 pixels) which is more impressive than any other smartphone currently on the market, including the fifth Galaxy S. This also means the LG G3 will feature a never before seen pixels per inch density in any smartphone currently on the market.

It is important to make a note on the pixels per inch density. The leaked specs suggest the LG G3 will have a 5.5 inch display and a 2560 x 1440 pixels resolution. This means the LG G3’s pixels per inch density would be 530, which would mean the LG G3 will be the device with the sharpest and crispest display in the world. However, the AnTuTu Benchmark results screen shows the pxiels per inch density of the LG G3 to be 640. At a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a 640 pixels per inch density does not match with the display being 5.2 – 5.5 inches. This is an interesting fact.

The AnTuTu Benchmark results screen also negates one of the leaked specs. The leaked specs from Sprint?s LG LS990 UA profile claimed the LG G3 would be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 System on Chip, unlike its competitors from 2014: the second generation HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S5 are powered by the upgraded Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 System on Chip. The AnTuTu Benchmark results screen lists LG G3’s GPU as an Adreno 330, which is actually included in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 System on Chip. That would put the LG G3 on the same level as the other flagship released this year, when it comes to processing power.

The other leaked specs of the LG G3 include 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage that can be upgraded via a micro SD card with up to 64 GB; a 13 MP rear camera (with optical image stabilization and able to record videos in 4K resolution) was also confirmed plus a 2.1 MP front camera. Regarding connectivity, the LG G3 will support LTE, EVDO, IS2000, GPS, WiFi, and Bluetooth plus a NFC (near filed communication) and IR blaster. Note the some markets will receive an LG G3 variant with an octo core CPU. As we mentioned, a very interesting thing is the discrepancy between the pixels per inch density reported in the leaked specs and the pixels per inch density shown in the AnTuTu Benchmark results screen. ?This could mean that either the leaked specs or the ANTuTu Benchmark results screen is wrong.
