The second generation HTC One (the company’s “primary flagship for 2014”) was unveiled and released last month, in an event that was held in New York City on March 25th. A new rumors suggests the Taiwanese company is going to release a new color variant of the second generation HTC One: red. According to the rumor, the new color variant is going to be exclusive to Verizon Wireless’ stores.

Earlier rumors, suggested that besides the already mentioned three color variants (grey, silver, and amber gold), HTC would eventually release the HTC One M8 in two other color variants: blue and red. Recently, @evleaks (a reputable leaker) that the Glamour Red HTC One M8 is heading to Verizon: “Glamour Red HTC One M8 to Verizon“. Unfortunately, the tweet was not accompanied by a release date or a photo, but there is no reason to doubt the news as @evleaks is a trustworthy source.

The first generation HTC One was also released in a Glamour Red color variant, which was very well received by users. The first generation Glamour Red HTC One was exclusive to Sprint in the United States; if the @evleaks rumor is true, it seems that the Taiwanese company decided to change carriers and give the Glamour Red HTC One M8 exclusivity to Verizon.

It also uses a better version of the first generation HTC One System on Chip: the Qualcomm Snapdragon 801, which features a 2.3 GHz quad core CPU and an Adreno 330 GPU. It also comes with 2 GB of RAM, a 2,600 mAh battery and it is available in two models: one with 16 GB of internal storage, the other with 32 GB of internal storage; both models’ internal storage can be upgraded via a microSD card slot. When it comes to software, the HTC One M8 is be the first smartphone from HTC to be released with Android 4.4.2 KitKat, out of the box.
