Samsung Galaxy S4 Handset Starts Fire, Burns Down An Entire House
Apparently, one of Samsung’s hottest handsets, the Galaxy S4 got literally on fire in a Hong Kong citizen’s house.
According to a new report published by Xianguo.com, a Chinese website, the man which is only known as Du, claims that his entire house was torched by a Samsung Galaxy S4 that burst into flames.
The man said that while being in the middle of the game Love Machine, he got startled by a loud noise coming from the phone’s accumulator. His first reaction was to throw away the phone, unfortunately on a sofa that quickly got on fire. From there, the flames spread all over Du’s home and caused massive damage to the entire construction, but happily Du and his spouse managed to get out before getting injured.
This is not the first time we receive these kind of news, as earlier this month a woman from Swede reported that she got three degree burns on her foot after a Samsung Galaxy S4 exploded in one of her pockets. And back in 2012, a man from Dublin claimed that his Galaxy S3 burst into flames while sitting on the dashboard of his car.
The main reason for these incidents seem to be unofficial components, as in the case of the Swiss girl whose Galaxy exploded. Apparently, her phone was powered by a discount replacement accumulator when the incident happened.
On the other hand, Mr Du claimed that his handset’s battery and charger were all original Samsung components. At the moment Samsung Hong Kong are trying to find an answer to the matter.
However, these freaky and scary smartphone incidents aren’t experienced only by Samsung. During past month, a Chinese man was put in coma by an electric shock from his iPhone when he answered a phone call while the phone was charging. And a Chinese woman was killed by what seem to be, similar circumstances.
As a response to these accidents, Apple advised his customers to make sure they use only official Apple components, referring to both the battery and the charger.
