Samsung Gear VR, a Virtual Reality Helmet, Will Cost $ 200

Having presented Gear VR, a virtual reality helme, at IFA 2014, Samsung said little about its characteristics, citing the need to use the gadget paired with Galaxy Note 4 smartphone. At the moment this is the only compatible model, but in the future, the number of devices supported will increased.
In fact, Gear VR is just a “dock-station” or a “frame” for the smartphone equipped with additional controls, which opens the door to the world of virtual reality in front of its user. The design of the helmet has a compartment, where user will set the phone.
Samsung published an”infographic”, revealing new details about the features and characteristics of Gear VR. The helmet provides a viewing a angle of 96 degrees, with the virtual display remaining in front of the user’s eyes when they turn by 360 degrees.
The Gear VR glasses are equipped with air vents, two lenses, a proximity sensor, a scroll wheel to change the focal length, volume control buttons, a touch panel on the side of the case, a back button and a USB connector. The “mask” with lenses has the dimensions of 90 x 116 x 198 mm.
The price of the Gear VR set, which, of course, does not inlude its key component – Galaxy Note 4 – is $ 200. Taking into account the fact that the phablet that serves as a screen will cost the buyer $800, the total price of the gaming and 3D video set will reach $ 1,000.
